The Three
I had screamed toward distant stars
and was greeted only by the cold of night and wind.
Yet, huddled here beneath an ocean shell
as small as ocean sand,
You hear my whisper and return in mighty ocean thunder
the Glory of your name.
*********
Unexpectedly He comes
and goes without my say.
I bend before the roaring of His times
and in His windy Spirit find my sway;
a dance thats danced without the world's
vast song,
I seem before a gawking crowd to dance alone;
unseen the cloud of witnesses with me.
*********
I am open within and closed without.
I come on silent feet veiled as an Arab woman.
The celebrious clapping of your children surround me,
yet I, one of the children, am silent,
overwhelmed in the presence of the incarnate One.
His presence evokes Your reality.
His reality removes the negation.
Yet lingers the glow of otherness,
overwhelming my
bowed spirit
I weep.
